A Message from Pastor Kevin Dibbey

"I Am With You" | Acts 18:1-17

One of the most powerful statements that someone can ever say to us is “I am with you.” It is infinitely more powerful when that person is the Lord Jesus Christ himself. In this passage that we are studying today (Acts 18:1-17), the Lord Jesus appears to Saul at Corinth in a dream and tells him: “‘Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you...’”.  This is exactly what Christ said to the disciples at the end of Matthew’s gospel when Jesus gives the great commission. He ends by saying “I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

On Thanksgiving weekend, we give thanks for the comfort and courage that comes from the promise of Christ’s presence in our lives. November 30 is the first day of Advent. Over the next several Sundays leading up to Christmas, we will celebrate the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here’s the great news. He came the first time in order to show us by His life and death and resurrection, that He would never ever leave us alone. He is with us!

The Christmas season can be a time of loneliness, sorrow, and struggle. Yet, the core message to each of us is this: His name is Immanuel, God with Us! Come this Sunday, as we merge our study of Acts with the message of hope in Christmas: Christ is with us forever! He will never let us go! May we find strength in this together and may His presence be with us even as we worship Him as a church family. See you Sunday. Invite a friend.

Operation Christmas Child Update

Operation Christmas Child Update

We're grateful for your partnership as you entrust Samaritan's purse with your prayerfully packed shoe box gifts.

Waterbrooke's generous support sent 60 boxes to one of the ministry partners located in some of the 100 countries.

The volunteers place the gifts in the hands of the child and tell them about God's greatest gift, the Lord Jesus Christ. Discipleship is also offered through the curriculum, The Greatest Journey.

To God's glory, over 15 million children have chosen to follow Jesus as a result of the grace of God.

We are privileged to continue to be a part of His mission. Thanks again, the shoe box team.

Waterbrooke Facebook Ad - Help Needed on Sunday, September 7

To reach our Victoria neighbors, we are going to begin running a weekly facebook ad inviting them to our church.  In each ad, we'd like to include a very brief testimony (think 2-4 sentences or so) from someone who attends Waterbrooke.  It doesn't have to be an entire story of salvation; it could be a brief summary of how Jesus has helped you through a tough problem or how the Lord has blessed you.

By including a different testimony each week, we will reach a variety of people in situations we have experienced or overcome.  People who see the ad will know that we have faced the same situations they have, connecting with them in a way that would make them feel welcome at Waterbrooke.  Even if they never come to our church, we have the opportunity to share through our testimonies.

We need for lots of people to provide a testimony that we can use in the ad. Kenneta Fabing will be at a table in the hub on December 7, after each service. Please stop by and talk to Kenneta!

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus

Waterbrooke Women's Ministry Brunch - Saturday, December 6, 2025

Do you have a longing heart? As we dive into the Christmas season - with all the beautiful decor, gifts, concerts, family time, and busyness - do you find yourself longing for something more?

Come, join the women of Waterbrooke for a festive brunch on Saturday, December 6, as we celebrate the Advent season and prepare our hearts for the birth of Christ this Christmas. Join us as we remind each other what is the true "joy of every longing heart".

Brunch: 9:30 a.m. (a sign-up will be available soon)

Program: 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Do you know anyone else with a longing heart?? Invite a friend, neighbor, coworker - let's share the "hope of all the earth" and "dear desire of every nation"!

Helping the Church AND Getting Favorable Tax Treatment

We realize that not everyone owns stock, but for those who do, you may not be aware of the tax advantages of making a gift of stock to the church.

With the stock market going up recently and with year-end approaching, this is a good time to consider donating stock to Waterbrooke.

How it helps you:  If you own a stock for at least a year and it has gone up in price, and you give the shares to the church, you don't have to pay tax on the gain AND you get a charitable deduction for the full amount.

For example:  You acquire 10 shares of stock at $50 a share.  It goes up to $170 a share, for a total value of $1,700.  If you donate it to the church, you get a charitable deduction for the full $1,700. And you would not pay tax on the profit of $1,200 like you normally would if you sold the stock.

How it helps Waterbrooke:  When our broker receives the stock, we sell it and use the proceeds as we would any contribution.

Questions???  The process is very simple.  Instructions are on our website under "Giving" or our Treasurer, Karen Kowalke, can give you more details.
