A Message from Pastor Kevin Dibbey"The God Who Opens Doors and Hearts" | Acts 16:6-15 Proverbs 16:9 says this: “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” One of the great encouragements for us as believers is to know that God is providentially orchestrating all the events of our lives for His glory and for our good. Ultimately, that’s good to know, although it is not always easy to embrace. Faithfulness to God and his mission requires that we as Christians hold our plans loosely and be prepared for unexpected and often sudden changes in the direction of our lives and our ministries. This may happen on a grand scale when some large-scale political or economic change happens that redirects a Christian’s location or vocation. It may include a job transfer or a significant health change. It can also happen on a small scale in just daily disruptions to what we had planned for our day or our week. Dietrich Bonhoeffer once wrote “We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God. God will be constantly crossing our paths and canceling our plans by sending us people with claims and petitions. We may pass them by preoccupied with our more important tasks, as the priest passed by the man who had fallen among thieves, perhaps—reading the Bible.” Bonhoeffer’s warning is good for us. The posture of every believer is a humble submission to all the possible changes and interruptions that God sends our way for our good and for the good of His mission in the world. It’s His mission. God directs His people and orchestrates their lives for His good and perfect plans in this world. How are you doing with this? Do you possess the kind of teachable flexibility that allows you both to be joyful and available when God leads us in unexpected ways? Our sermon this Sunday will be taken from Acts 16:6-15 and it is called “The God who Opens Doors and Hearts.” This is a super helpful and encouraging passage of Scripture. Looking forward to worshipping Christ together on Sunday and being amazed at the God who faithfully leads us. See you on the Lord’s Day. For more infomation visit:

Operation Christmas ChildLast day to drop off your box at church is November 16. Millions of God's people will be packing and praying over their shoe-boxes that have been sent to 170 different countries and territories. Let's not miss this well-organized opportunity to reach the nations' kids. The gospel is proclaimed through local church partners and through the 12-lesson discipleship course, The Greatest Journey. Johan, a box recipient, reminds us, "It's not the box - it's God behind the box." National Collection Week is November 17-24. Stop by the display in the lobby and grab a box. Here's a link to learn more about Operation Christmas Child. It's Shoebox Time! ~ This is an especially fun activity for families to do together. You can simply take a box from the display and drop it back off in the church lobby by Sunday, November 16th. We will gather those gifts, and they will be on their way around the globe. Click here for packing instructions. ~ Pray that God will prepare the hearts of shoe box recipients to hear His Word and place their trust in Him. Pray also for local ministry partners who distribute shoe box gifts and tell boys and girls about God's greatest gift, Jesus Christ. ~ For more information, or if you have questions, speak with Dianna Duncan or Sandy Esters. |

Mom's Room
We want to make sure everyone knows about our new Mom's room! Just to the left of the entry, in what looks like just a conference room, we have 2 super comfy rocking chairs! also the TV in that room plays the service on Sunday mornings so anyone in there won't miss out. So if needed for nursing or for calm a young one, this is a great spot! PS: We also installed changing tables in both the women's and men's restrooms upstairs for your convenience! |

Free Furniture
Over the years, the farmhouse has collected a number of furniture pieces that are no longer needed as we embark on a mini-makeover! The items are being posted on the Waterbrooke Facebook page if you want to see what's available. We don't claim that it is great quality, but if you're looking for something for an adult child setting up their first apartment or something for a workshop, there might be a piece that would work for you. You would have to arrange to pick up the items. You can pick up between 9-2 on T and TH or before or after church services, just let Yvette know below. First come, first served! And if you're especially happy with your new "treasure" and would like to make a donation to Waterbrooke to help us purchase some new things to spruce up the farmhouse, that would be a bonus for us! For questions, contact Karen Swenson or Yvette Hatch here. |

Missionary SpotlightThe De La Vega Family | Honduras Hi, Dear Waterbrooke Church Family, We are so thankful for your love and support for our family. It overwhelms us in thanksgiving as we think about having you all lifting us up in prayer. There are many times that can be challenging, and we feel the Lord carrying us- which we know is thanks to your intercession on our behalf- so thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Each time we have had the opportunity to come back and visit Waterbrooke, there are many new faces and families, so we will do another little introduction to ourselves! I’m Lauren and have been living in Honduras for 14 years. I taught for 10 of those years in a Christian Bilingual school here, in 4th grade, and in Spiritual Life. Diego is my husband and is from the capital city, where we live, called Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He has a heart for the church here and has been involved in different men's ministries as well as music. We’ve been able to be involved with music ministry together and different small groups as well. We have 3 children and one on the way by God’s grace! Ellie is our oldest (8), Joaquin (6), and Rowan (3). I now stay home with them and love our sweet haven of a home in the mountains where we live. Together, our desire is to help our newer church grow in God’s grace. We desire to host people weekly in our home and provide a safe place for fellowship and worship. We have a heart for breaking religious and legalistic atmospheres within the church to allow the grace of Jesus to flood in. Love in Christ, The De La Vega Family |
