One of the encouraging truths that we hold dearly as Christians is that God’s grace always leads to glory. Grace is the starting point. The end is glorious. When God comes and rescues a person, his goal is never merely to leave him or her in the brokenness and rubble of their former life. God has big plans for His people. Christ entered the world in order to make all things new and that includes us. Your salvation and my salvation is not complete until we share in the beauty and likeness of Jesus Christ. Can you imagine a life that is free of sin and conformed to the glory of Christ?
In our study of 2 Peter 1:5 this week, the apostle Peter urges people to press on and to press into the destiny that is ours in Jesus Christ. No Christian with a biblical vision of the future is meant to linger in sin and shame. All our energies are to be employed in taking hold of that for which Christ took hold of us. Are you willing to make every effort to be who Christ wants you to be? Our sermon this week is called, “Make Every Effort.” Our prayer is that this will be a hope-giving and life-changing message for all of us.
Join us as we worship God together as His children and seek to become more and more conformed to his likeness.
