This Sunday, we will continue our series in the Psalms entitled Summer of Wisdom. Our Psalm this week will be Psalm 2. Psalm 2 is a very important psalm because in it we see the promise of God the Father to God the Son to give Him dominion over all the nations. 

Where this psalm challenges us is that it is a call to surrender our lives to King Jesus. One of the basic instincts that each of us possesses is the sin of self-sovereignty… we want to be kings of our own lives. At its core, sin is a determination to usurp the authority of God over our lives and to live according to our desires. As Satan said in Genesis to Adam and Eve… “You can become like God.” Psalm 2 not only challenges the notion of our self-sovereignty but it reveals to us the urgency of surrendering our lives to King Jesus. The message is entitled “God’s Kingdom Over Mine” and it is one that we all need to hear.

Remember this Sunday, there is only one service together at 10 a.m. It is followed by lunch together. A chicken dinner will be provided for everyone. We hope that you will join us this week and may the Lord use our time together to bring glory and honor to His name and good to our souls. See you Sunday morning!

On Sunday June 14, we will be having one indoor service at 10:00 followed by a catered roast chicken dinner.

It's wonderful that we have such a great facility and grounds to be able to have these opportunities for fellowship with both our services together!

Finally!  The Rasooli family is out of their apartment in South Minneapolis and now renting a twin home is a safe community in Shakopee!  Thanks to many in the congregation who helped with furnishings and getting them moved in!  (See the intrepid Waterbrooke moving crew in the picture!)  The Rasooli's are thrilled to be in their new spot.  The rent to buy arrangement will give them a leg up to purchase the home in the future.

Naim has had several job interviews in the Shakopee area but no offers yet.  He plans to transfer to the Shakopee Walmart from his current Bloomington location if nothing else opens up.  Sohaila was able to transfer to the New Horizon Daycare in Shakopee about a mile from their new home.  The children are enrolled in the public schools for September.

Prayer Request:

The family has gotten no further information about their green card application. Our partner organization, Arrive Ministries, confirms that many Afghan families are experiencing no communications since their revetting interviews.  With recently announced changes from the Federal government, there is much apprehension and confusion about the situation.  Please pay that their application will be approved and that the Lord will grant them peace and patience in the meantime. Also, please pray that the Holy Spirit continues to soften their hearts to the gospel.

Our first student ministry get together of the summer will be hosted by Kevin and Katie Campbell at their house on Wenesday, June 24th from 6:30-9:00pm.

They plan to have 9-Square, Capture the Flag, snacks and possibly a bonfire!  We hope your student will plan to come and even bring a friend!
