Keep Yourselves in the Love of God | Jude 17-25

As most of you know, we have been studying the doctrine of the Love of God over the
summer months. Last Sunday, we studied Jesus’ exhortation to “abide” His love.

This week we are going to study Jude’s exhortation in Jude 17-25, “Keep yourselves in the love of God.” You might think it sounds strange, but the reality is that it is a real battle to keep ourselves living in, learning about, and growing in the love of God. In the classic hymn, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, author Robert Robinson describes what so many of us feel in our hearts: “Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love.” Jude would tweak that and say, “Prone to leave the God who loves me.”

Come this Sunday morning, as we consider how to collectively keep ourselves in the love of God. We need to fight the battle together. We have Teen Challenge with us, and it is going to be a great time of seeing the power of Christ in the lives of His people. Super
looking forward to it. There is a lunch after the second service. Consider staying and
meeting some of our friends from Teen Challenge. See you Sunday. Invite a friend!

After the second service, we'll be serving them a meal, and everyone is invited to stay to fellowship with the TC group.  See Dianna Duncan if you'd like to bring a dish to share.

During the service, we'll be asking for contributions towards the good work done by Teen Challenge.  There will be a QR code shown on the screen as well as "text to give" information.

Refugee Ministry Update

Refugee Ministry Update

Waterbrooke’s refugee ministry team has befriended the Rasooli family from Afghanistan, and for the past 10 months, we’ve helped them navigate their transition to life in the U.S.  We’ve assisted them with technology, paperwork, job seeking and purchase of a car, as well as just having fun with them together as friends. It’s been a blessing to everyone as we’ve shared God’s love with the family.

Now we’d like to assemble another team of 10 people so we can help a second family.  The time commitment is visiting the family once a month with another Waterbrooke team member and a monthly meeting of our team.

If you would  questions or would like to join us in “welcoming the sojourner” please contact Steve Kowalke at 952-456-1444 or sckowalke@yahoo.com.

Ministry Fair

Ministry Fair

On Sunday, September 21, ministry leaders at Waterbrooke will be available to share the goals of their respective ministries in the Ministry Hub after each service.

They'll have tables set up so you can visit with them to learn more about what they do, what their needs are and what their passion is.... to see if it aligns with yours!

We are always looking for people to join our teams so we can be more effective for sharing the gospel and advancing the Lord's kingdom.

We encourage you to take a little time after the service to speak with the ministry leaders and see if there are areas where you can use your gifts to serve!
