You can read about this simple, but very important ministry at Samaritanspurse.org. This organization serves the Church worldwide by promoting the Gospel of Jesus Christ via Christmas gifts packed in shoe boxes that are given to children in need. Pamphlets will be located by the Christmas tree at the back of the church with detailed guidance and suggestions as to what to include in a shoe box. Also, you’ll see in the pamphlet that Samaritan’s Purse requests that you donate $9.00 per shoe box to cover shipping to the far reaches of the world. Details can be found on the website HERE. If you’d like to donate shipping costs in lieu of filling a shoe box, write your check to Samaritan’s Purse and give it to Heidi Bracken, your Operation Christmas Child church coordinator. Reminder:  Due to issues with customs in certain countries, we are no longer allowed to include toothpaste or candy in the boxes. Deadline for dropping off your filled shoe boxes at the church is Sunday morning, November 11th, so that we can get them dropped off in time during National Collection week. Questions, call or email Heidi at (612) 599-0430 or hsbracken@gmail.com.
